My Hunger Games Critique shoulda published this last year....

Disclaimer: IWroteThisOnMyPhoneInOctober2012. this critique is for those who have read the novels and are able to understand the hard and heavy themes developed in The Hunger Games trilogy.
Spoiler alert included here:

**A Stupid Spoiler Alert **

The Hunger Games: a critique on the moral social and political decay on todays current society.

Having recently finished the Hunger Games series, let me just say that they were nothing short of spectacular. The author's writing ability far exceeds my own (which isn't saying much), and her descriptions are powerful. Suzanne Collins is able to draw you into the events of the books and elicit a wide range of emotions and on such an extreme level. Some of which include:  horror, anger, shock, love, compassion, fatigue, insanity, frustration, etc. because the list can go on and on. With my majoring in Spanish and Portuguese literature, I've read many African novels and short stories describing graphic and tragic experiences of their deprave war-torn lives during the many civil war years and the years following. The Hunger Games has had a more impressionable affect on me than their real-life stories. So why do I say its a critique on todays society? This novel portrays the very worst of humankind. It portrays a slave-like society, corrupt politicians, an indifferent public who revel in their captives death and ”slaves” destruction because of the Roman Gladiator entertainment it provides.

Graduation Day and the crew - Left: Aaron, Anna, Fati's husband, Fatima, Taniya, Davin
I figured its about time I tWeEt a little sumthin' for ya'll...but on blogger...well here it is:

Okay, Since the last update, I wanted to blog about a lot of different things, but my busy school schedule (and now work schedule) really got in the way.
Some ideas that I don't think I'll ever blog about but I'm mini-blogging about here include: sacrificing goats for Eid and skinning them for dinner (which took place in Oct), I'm sure there was some interesting event in the fall like the Corn field expedition I led around to get all the check marks, applying for a job, getting a job, starting a job, graduation - yay, other feats unmentionable and forgotten.

Well, rather than bore you with details about all of that and put in a whole bunch of pictures that would've been cool, I'll spare you all of that and just include one or two things that might have been interesting to you bloggers out there.

I've decided that this blogging stuff is a lot of work and if you write too much, no one will read it. So... I'm done because most of you already have had an ADD "episode" by now and have probably switched to another tab to look up something else, like Eid or corn maze or most likely goat.

I'll have to include updates about my work travels later. They haven't been nearly as cool as Eid obviously was.
